We ultra-filter our milk to remove its lactose sugars, along with some water, to slightly concentrate the milk proteins. We then blend our ultra-filtered milk with natural ingredients including allulose, a rare low calorie sugar found in figs and maple syrup.
How It's Better For
We are on a mission to help reduce water usage and increase the reusability of material products. Through ultra-filtration, we remove some water from our milk. This excess water is sent back to our family-owned farms to be reused in their everyday processes. Along with this, Slate is packaged in 100% recyclable aluminum cans and is a proud Certified Plastic Neutral company. Our goal is to make this beautiful planet a little bit happier and a little bit healthier, one can at a time.

Lactose is a sugar many adults have trouble digesting. Sometimes, natural products in their original form need small adjustments for us to properly digest them. Milk is no different. We peel the skin off of bananas. We take the pit out of avocados. We avoid the seeds in watermelon. Why don’t we remove the lactose from milk? All Slate products are 100% lactose free.
1. We skim our milk, then filter out the natural lactose sugars. This natural process, called ultrafiltration, is how we’re able to boast less sugar and more protein than other milks.
2. Our natural ingredients are then blended, canned, and heated (through the retort process) at our production facility.
3. Slate milk is shipped to your doorstep to be chugged.
